  • "Saturday Surprise"

    "Saturday Surprise"
    The second "Saturday Surprise", was the day when German soldiers marched into the Rhineland. The German soldiers did this while the German fighter planes roared overhead; when Hitler, once again sent his troops into the Rhineland he broke the terms of the Treaty of Versailles once again. The Rhineland was a strip of land that was thrity-one miles wide, which acted as a buffer between Germany and both France and Belgium.

    Hitlers Move at Austria
    On this date Hitler summoned Kurt von Schuschnigg the Austrian Prime MInister to a secret meeting which went on for eleven hours; this meeting consisted of insults and threats from Hitler to the Prime MInister of Austria. Hitler wanted Austria to become a part of "Greater Germany," in result he gave the Austran Prime Minister three days to change his mind from no to yes.

    "A return to the Reich"
    WIth secret funds coming from the Nazi's,the Germans were agitated for "a return the Reich." By the summer that year Hitler was supporting those demands openly. This led to the Czechs to turn to France and Russia for help because these nations had promised to keep the country's independence.
  • Six years after being chanclellor

    Six years after being chanclellor
    SIx years after Hitler became the Chancellor of Germany he had more plans. Hitler had told the Reichstag that other nations were hypocritical when they complained that Germany mistreated Germany. America, for example, was mistreating black people but demanded that the cruilty in Germany to Jews must stop.
  • Targeting Poland

    On this date the Nazis took a group of prisoners dressed in Polish army uniforms as part of a plan of Hitler's to start a war. From the concentration camp called Glewitz to a town on the Polish border these prisoners were brought and killed. The next day in the morning the German army and SS went into Poland.
  • "yellow star"

    Towards the end of 1939 every Jewish person had to wear a yellow start. Between 9 p.m and 5 a.m Jewsish people were not allowed on the streets. Failing to abide by these or any laws by the Nazis would mean up to ten years in prison.
  • France Falls

    By this date France fell to Hitler's power and perseverence. Hitler now controlled all of Western Europe except for Britain. During Britains lonesome struggle other nations conqured other nations and formed governments in-exile in London.
  • Invasion of Russia

    On this date Hitler declared the invasion of Russia to destroy the " Jewish-Bolshevik menance." As Germany's army advanced, into what was once the Soviet Union, four of the SS units followed. The armies were told to kill anyone who could be considered "enimies of state."
  • War between U.S and Japan

    This United States declared war on Japan because the day before Japan bombed Pear Harbor, the U.S naval station in Hawaii. Japan and Germany were allies so Japan asked for the support of Hitler. On December 11, Hitler declared war on the U.S.
