First "Saturday Suprise"
Hitler came to figure out that the people as well as countrys opposing him wouldn't speak out against him due to pity and fear of another war. So during this "Saturday Suprise " he announced the rebuilding of the German air force, reinstating the draft, and rearming the nation. He preached that this all was to bring about peace and safety instead of aggression amongst the people, and many Europeans came to believe what he said as true. -
Second "Saturday Suprise"
During the second "Saturday Suprise" German soldiers marched into the Rhineland with Air Force over head and retook the area. Hitler ignored the Treaty of Versailles but the Allies did nothing defensive to stop him. By gainning back this land Hitler brought hope to the people and loyalty to him from all citizens. -
Germany allies with Italy
Hitler and his people were power hungry for the land they lost and part of what they wanted in World War One to become theirs. Hitler saw Russians to be communists and slaves against the idea of racial purity. This agreement gave Mussolini German support to invade Ethiopia, and Hitler made the move to invading as well as taking over Austria -
Munich Pact
Hitler had easily took Austria and his next target was now Czechoslovakia due to its German population in Sudetenland which the Czechs strongly wanted too keep. The Czechs had this land protected from a agreement with their allies but was violated when Britian and France signed the Munich Pact. Hitler then was able to attack the Czechs and Russia was unable to help due to its denied access through European nations. -
Death Threats and Broken Promises
Hilter told the Riechstag of the reasons and importance of destroying the Jewish population even if some other natons are being hypocritical. Hitler soon after this speech took over Czechoslovakia and threatened to take over more. When Hitler announced this threat other countries warned they would step in, and President Roosevelt felt he was told the truth when Hitler said Danzig and Poland were his last territoral claims. -
War Begins
Hitler dressed up a group of prisioners as Polish soldiers and shot them declaring they had tried to invae Germany. Hitler declared war on Poland forcing Russia, France, and Britian to join. When Pitotrkow found our Hitler's plan too exterminate Jews Hitler bombed them as well as burned and shot fleeing Jews. In 18 days Poland was Germanys. -
Targeting Poland
After conqouring Poland its western and centeral parts became Warteqau where Poles and Jews were exported to the General Government. Polish children got little education and strict orders to obey Nazis, and Ayran children were kidnapped to be trained into soldiers or motherhood, and Jews were distinguished in society as well as having strict rules. Nazis established around 400 Jewish ghettos and 437 forced labor camps. -
Germany takes over West
Nazis turned west and took over Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Britian was the last allie left and Churchill became leader which caused Britian t go into total war with Germany. Conqoured nations were split up and controlled by Nazi approved leaders and antisemitism against Jews. Jews were beginning to start to be sent to death camps from Nazi cntrolled countries. -
Invading Russia
This war to Hitler was more than just a war over territory but also yet a racial war, and Russia was the one of the last nations in its way. Hitler already had occasional murders of Jews in Russia but now he made it more important. He made it more regular and stealthly so that at the end of 1941 700,000 Russian Jew were killed. -
U.S.A Joins the War
Hitler thought Russia would give up but they continued to fight vigorously without letting up so now Germany was fighting Ruusia in the east and Britian in the west. Hitler had a agreement with Japan who needed their support fighting U.S.A. thus bring U.S.A. in war against Germany as well. Now Hitler was facing three amjor power houses Russia, Britian, and U.S.A.
