    This war was declared on the fact that, on July 28th 1914 Serbian complied with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenburg. The attack took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia.

    Throughout the war, women didnt just sit around and wait for their husbands to return from war, they did they farming, weapon making and catering, all to help men at war.

    This slogan is probably one of the most famous and unforgetable. It was a sign informing men to fight for there country at war, and the first 100,000 were to be the ones to do it.
    The call was answered in just 2 weeks. This sign helped encourage men to fight for there country. It was one of the main things to help Great Britain win the war.

    Trenches were built along the border so they could hide away from any enimies, but the reason why they built them in this exact place was to be ready to attack again at anytime.

    Poison gas during war time was a dangerous and deadly weapon, troops could easily attack there enimies by exploding poison gas to choke them when they least expect it.

    -inside throat swelling.
    -blistering painful throat.
    - slow and painful death

    The steel helmets were first worn by our British Troops, it was a protective head gear to help decrease the chances of head injurys.

    Germany had yet again declared another war, this time it was against Portugal. Six days later Austria did the same.

    Germany had been declared another war by Italy, Germany was probably one of the most popular counrtys in world war 1, seeing as they'd been declared, and been declared so many wars.

    Out of the 33 aircraft, 6 are lost, while 49 civilians are killed and 177 wounded.

    The Armistice is signed at 5.00am and comes into effect at 11.00am.
    At 10.57am Canadian Private George Lawrence Price is killed while on patrol in Canal du Centre. He is the last soldier to die in action on the Western front.

    This was a peace treatie to sign that the world war was over, many countrys would of been left happy, but for those who lost to their enimies, it wasnt the best outcome.

    The Cenotaph is a memorial monument based in London, to remember those men that went to war to fight, and helped us win the war.
