    Treaty of Versailles

Web. 20 Jan. 2014.</a>The Treaty of Versailles was a peace settlement that was signed by Germany and the Allies; Britian, France and Italy. This happened after World War One ended in 1918 on January 28th. Germany was held responsible for the war and it's consequences. There had been a big negotionation between the "Big Three" David Lloyd George of Britian, Clemenceau of France and Vittorio Orlando of Italy. 414 of the 440 clauses of the treaty punished Germany, included reparation, payments and military restictions.

There were crowds of people lined on the street, in windows and waving flags. Men from many nationalist parties marched down the street in Nuremberg. This was known as the Der Deutsche Tag in Nuernberg on September 2 1923.

    The Beer Hall Putsch
    The Beer Hall Putsch was where Hitler tried to overthrow the Weimar government of Ebert and set up a right wing nationalistic one. Hitler's trial brought him more attention and publicity than he's ever had because he failed. While he spent time in jail, Hitler wrote a book called "Mein Kampk," that shaped his racist goals. After he was let out of prison, he went onto politicking.
  • Nazi 3rd Party Rally

Big propaganda events taken place by the state, after Hitler rise to power, was to spotlight the power and loyalty of the people. Many of the NSDAP rallies took place in Nuremberg due to the setting and compassionate police. A few years later, the place was called "Reichsparteitage des deutschen Volkes" that described unity between German people and the Nazi Party.

This helped to make the democratic German government set up after World War I more unpopular and gave political group to get power. Many people lost confidence in their finicial aid and wasted no time in trying to get their money out of the banks. Unemployment percentage went up, wages went down, economic growth went down and the world trade went down.
  • Presidential election

    Hitler Runs for PresidentAdolf Hitler ran for President against Paul von Hindenburg, a current and WWI hero. Hindenburg won by 19% of votes more than Hitler but that wasn't enough to be awarded presidency. So for that, a run off election was taken place April 10, 1932. Hitler then gained 36% of votes and Hindenburg gained 53% which was enough for him to be elected for President.
  • Chancellor of Germany

    Adolf Hitler is named Chancellor of GermanyDuring the year 1932, the people in Germany been through bad economic issues and fustration. Because of this, the German people were making Hitler popular. As his popularity grew, Hindenburg became intimidated and refused to make him chancellor. Hingenburg was convinced by ex-chancellor Franz von Papen and conservative German Pational People's Party to nominate Hitler as Chancellor. When hitler became Chancellor, involving the German population, his plan was to make Germany powerful, & unified.
  • German Parliment Building

    Adolf Hitler was the new Chancellor of Germany who intended to create himself as dictator as fast as he could, then being the Nazi revolution. In 1933, the Berlin Fire Department in Germany received a call that the Reichstage building was on fire. Matinus van der Lubbe, a young communist, was found to be on the premises that day. Van der Lubbe and four other communists were arrested and charged with arson and attempting to overthrow the company. Others believed the Nazi Party was responsible.
  • BOYCOTT

The work Holocaust is from the Greek word "holokauston" which means sacrifice by fire." That refers to the Nazis persecution of the Jewish people. 11 million people were killed, 6 million of these people were Jews. A boycott of all Jewish buisnesses was instigated by the Nazis. Nazis created anti-Jews laws forbidding them from parks and having certain jobs. Also, Jews were ordered to live in Ghettos away from other people.
  • Czechoslovakia

President Roosevelt made a request to Adolf Hitler and Czech President Edward Benes to bargain instead of going to war. The Propaganda Minister of the Nazis gave a speech to a crowd to boycott Jewish owned bisnesses. Nazi troopers blocked entrances to jewish owned buisnesses with signs that read "Germans, defend yourselves against the Jewish atrocity propoganda, buy only at German shops!" and "Germans. defend yourselves, buy only at German shops!"
  • European Powers

    European PowerHitler was focused on making Germany a European power and planned the country's territorial expansion. During this time, Gernany invaded Austria, took over Czechoslovakia and engaged with Rhineland. Hitler's Army began to take over a lot of Europe and soon captured much of Europe including France, Denmark and Belgium.
