Hitler invades Austria
On this date hitler had a meeting with Austrias prime minister. He threatend the prime minister with a decision that had to be made within three days. The decision was to hand over Austria freely or it would be invaded. The prime minister denied hitler Austria so less than a month later he invaded it. -
The Munich Agreement
During this time, an emergency meeting was called upon by Benito Mussilini. This meeting had to do with hitlers demand of taking over the Sudentenland. The czechs did not want to give hitler this land but hitler did not back down. France and Britain decided to give him the land as long as it was to be his last demand -
Hitler Demands Poland
In Hitlers address to the Reichstag years after becoming chancellor, Hitler talks about how other countries were hypocrits because they complained about Germany mistreating Jewish People while other countries also excluded them at times. Other countries were quiet aboout this happening, but the US asked HItler not to harm 30 specific countries. Hitler replied with compliance and also with demands for part of Poland. -
Hitler starts WWII
On this day, German soldiers invaded Poland after a so called "attack" that was just a hoax that germany pulled to look for trouble with Poland. A couple days after this france and Britain also declared war on germany. This was the begining of WWII -
Hitler Cracks down on Jews
During this time hitler had strict laws and regulations among the jewish people. If you were a jew you were forced to live in a ghetto filled and over crowded with thousands of other jews. The conditions were very harsh and food wasnt readily availible. they were required to wear yellow stars on their clothes and many were sent to labor camps. -
Germany Gains control of France
Hitler now has mostly all of Europe under his belt now. He has conquered and fought his way to win France as well as many other places back. In the countries Hitler made up types of government such as SS,military or civilian run. In all the countries germany has conquered jews were taken away and sent to camps if captured -
The invasion of Russia
Hitler thought that to fully exterminate the Jewish population of Europe he would have to invade Russia. Russia was not expecting the attack because earlier in the war Germany had signed a non agression pact. There were now over 700,000 jews dead. -
US decides to enter the war
On this date Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, which is the US Naval base in Hawaii. The US immidiatly declared war on Japan because of this bombing. Japan went to talk to Hitler to see if they would help defend against the Americans. Since they acted alone in attacking the US, Hitler joined forces with Japan and declared war on the US.
