    Chinese Nationalists kick out Pu Yi, the last Qing Emperor
    Henry Pu Yi was a puppet Emperor in China, and had no real power. In 1911, Chinese Nationalists kicked him out of the Forbidden City and he seeked refuge in Japan.

    After the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, Austrio-Hungary gave Serbia a list of demands that they had to follow if they didn't want Austro-Hungary to declare war on them. Although Serbia tried to obey all of the demands, they couldn't obey all of them and Austro-Hungary declared war on Serbia. This lead to the involvement of Russia and Germany, and eventually most of the world was fighting against eachother.

    After the tensions between Germany and the United States were already high because Germany sunk a US merchant ship called the "Lusitania" the US decided to join the war after the Zimmerman telegram was sent to Mexico, offering them Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas if they joined the Central Powers.

    In 1918, during the second battle of the Marne, The Central Powers decided to sign an armistice with the Allied Powers. They signed this agreement to stop fighting, without Kaiser Wilhelm's consent because they had become too tired to fight.

    Gandhi used civil disobedience or nonviolent protest against the raj in India . Gandhi's protests were sometimes as simple as making his own cloth so to not buy British products, or as complex as a 23 day salt march just to not buy British salt. Although Gandihi and his men were brutally attacked, he was eventually sucessful, and the British raj was abolished.

    After the abolishment of the Ottoman empire, many new countries such as Turkey emerged. Mustafa Kumal was a Turkish commander who won many battles and against all odds, and made Turkey a republic. He was known as Attaturk or the father of the Turks and he was the president of Turkey for 15 years.

    In China the Nationalists chased the communists in the Long march. Mao Zedong said that he was leading them, but actually took a plane above them. The Long March lasted 2 years and resulted in many communist deaths.
