The assassination of Franz Ferdinand was the start of world war I. He was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist. Franz was assassinated because he was an important Austria – Hungarian prince. Germany Declared war on Russia
Russia deployed it’s forces both on land and sea. This made the German Emperor scared and in imminent danger of an attack from the Russian. The emperor tried to tell Russia to move its forces from near Germany, but they failed to do so. In which case The Emperor, accepted the challenge, and started a war with Russia.

Britain declared war on Germany because Germany had control of Belgium. Which was a serious threat to Britain, but when Germany attacked France through Belgium. It made Britain declare war on Germany to stop them from taking over France.

This battle was the longest battle fought in the history. This battle was fought on a very small piece of land. This battle was fought to take German Pressure off the French. This war was also fought to make one of the Generals of France a hero. This war lasted for 11 months.

Army led by sir John Nixon, was success full in their invasion of Mesopotamia. After days of fighting the Turkish troops and Germany, Troops started having problem with illness plagued. It made them surrender to the Turkish forces.

Britain captures Jerusalem from Ottaman Empire
The British moved in the city after the Turks troops left. The British troops were under strict instructions not to disrespect the city so they moved in on foot even when they had high number of casualties in the war, they were running out of food and ammo.
