    Nationalism is an intense form of patriotism. Nationalism also inspired the assassination of the Archduke. Most Europeans believed in cultural, economic, and military supremacy of their nation. They did what was best for their nation instead of all the countries as a whole.

    On June 28th, 1914, Gavrilo Princip assassinates archduke Franz Ferdinand leading to Austria-Hungary to declare war on Serbia. Once more countries joined the war it was the central powers vs. the Allied powers.
