Here is a link to the book "How Children Succeed."In this course we learn about some of the issues the modern student faces that make success in the classroom difficult. We read the book "How Children Succeed" by Paul Tough. It was a very interesting book and made me realize that teaching nonacademic skills is just as important as teaching content and academic material in the classroom!

I received a grant to develop new curriculum for the Anatomy and Physiology course. I developed a lot of new interactive activities for the Lymphatic and Immune Systems. I'm looking forward to seeing my studends debate the use of vaccines, and learning about why a small minority of people are immune to HIV. I think the new actitives are more relevant and engaging that what was done before.

What do teachers really do during the summer? The week before school starts is always spent in the classroom, getting things ready for the school year. Its an exciting and nervous time; yes, even teachers get nervous for the first day of school!
