    Vladimir's brother, Alexander, a university student and some of his friends conspired to kill the czar and were arrested in March 1887. They were all arrested and put in jail. This led him to joining the Marxist newspaper as a writer. He went to many different countries to meet with common thinkers to write the first issue of the Marxist newspaper.     Leads Bolshevik Revolution
    In 1917, The Germans let Lenin and his lieutenants cross through Germany to Sweden in hopes that they would undermine the Russian war efforts. Their hopes came to fruition when Vladimir Lenin and the Red Guards went to Petrograd and overthrew the provisional government. He survived this attack but it gave him serious health problems which caused him to have 3 heart attacks before he died.     He introduced the New Economic Policy in 1921. This was designed to help the lower class by instead of having to give all the money they made by selling their products to government, they now got to keep a portion of their money.
