  • Continental Congress offically signs the Declaration of Independence

    The Second Continental Congress met in Philadelphia and went over the draft of the Declaration of Independence on July 1, 1776. They officially signed it on July 4, 1776. There is also something written on the back of the Declartion in invisable ink. This is probably the most important peice of history.
  • The official signing of the U.S. Constitution

    On September 17, 1787 delegates signed the constitution in Philadelphia, presided over by George Washington. The constitution is a much better government system compared to the Articles of Confederation. The constitution is still here today which was signed about 226 years ago.
  • Invention of the Cotton Gin

    In 1794, U.S.-born inventor Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. The cotton gin is a machine that revolutionized the production of cotton by greatly speeding up the process of removing seeds from cotton fiber. slaves worked at textile mills where cotton gins were located.

    California Gold Rush

    The discovery of gold in the California in early 1848 sparked the Gold Rush, arguably one of the most significant events to shape American history during the first half of the 19th century. As news spread of the discovery, thousands of prospective gold miners traveled by sea or over land to San Francisco and the surrounding area.

    World War 2

    Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist rearmed the nation and signed treaties with Italy and Japan. Hitler's invasion of Poland in September 1939 drove Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, and World War II had begun. Over the next six years, the conflict would take more lives and destroy more land and property around the globe than any previous war.
  • Atomic Bombings on Hiroshima, Japan

    The United States used a huge atomic weapon against Japan. This bomb was equal to 20,000 tons. Three days after United States bombed Japan they bombed Nagasaki.
  • March on Washington / "I Have a Dream" Speech

    This speech gave us freedom. It gave us freedom form racism expesicially. It also is remebered. This speech is considered one of the most important speeches in our country.
  • My Birthday

    I was born in early September so it was still warm but turning into the fall type of weather. I have one brother, Tyler. I play soccer and I do track. I love running, sleeping, and art.
  • Terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001

    This suicide attack was by the group, al-Qaeda upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. There were planes that crashed into the twin towers and another plane that landed in the pentagon.
