Unification of Germany

  • The German Confederation

    The German Confederation was formed to replace the Holy Roman Empire that was divided several hundreds of years ago. Although there were 39 states in it, Prussia and the Habsburg Empire were the most powerful and dominant members.
  • Zollverein

    The Zollverein was created between the German states in which they removed tariff on products that were traded between these states which mutually protected economy between them.
  • Liberal revolution

    Just like in Hungary, there was a revolution as well, which happened to fail eventually, but it created a consitutional monarchy there.

    Bismarck as Minister of Prussia

    During all these mentoned important events in the history of the unification of Germany, Bismarck was the minister of Prussia.
  • Danish War

    Prussia and Austria were fighting against Denmark for territories and they won. It was one of the main events that eventually led to the unification of Germany.
  • Austro-Prussian war

    The main goal of Prussia was to form the Small German Unity which happened after 7 weeks of war with the Peace Treaty of Prague.

    Prussian-French war

    After France lost territories as the result of the war against Prussia, the Small german Unity was realized with the Peace Treaty of Versailles.
