This is very important because if they never had these advancements they would have never been able to even debate about imperialism. Instead we would be under imperialism.

    After the spanish American war the Filipinos decided to fight against the U.S. in order to gain their own freedom. This was an extreme example of American imperialism as the U.S. created concentration camps and killed every Filipino they came across.

This really shows that America has so much power over Latin America and can control them whenever they want to.

    President Woodrow Wilson signed the Jones-Shafroth Act. This is very important because this showed how much power America had over Puerto Rico and by putting this act in action it eased the anti-imperialists.
