    This event was one of Alexander II many reforms. It abolished serfdom in all of Russia which made Serfs happy, and made Alexander II more popular among the nation.

    The Russian Revolution of 1905 was caused by civil unrest in the populance. This Led to the formation of a constitutional monarchy like the people wanted. The people made their point through Riots, Strikes, and violent protests that took place.

    Rasputin was shot, stabbed, hit with pipes, and still survived!!!! (Probably due to vodka) After all of this, he escaped, jumped out of a window, and eventually was found in a river. When his body was washed up, it was discovered that he drowned, and did not die from the other injuries!

    There were around 400,000 workers who rioted with a primary goal of the revolution of displacing the czar.

    Tsar Nicholas II became czar on March 15, 1917.
    He was the supereme ruler of russia.
    The people rioted later and eventually overthrew him.
  • Bolshevik Revolution

    Also called the Otober Revolution, this took place place to try and reform the current government of Russia. This revolution was VIOLENT, and there was rioting and protesting, and an armed insurrection in Petrograd.

  • Romanov Family Murdered

    Romanov Family Murdered
    The Romanov family was murdered at Ekateringburg on July 17th, 1918. After his abdication in 1917, Nicholas and his family were put under house arrest. The family was eventually killed by anti government revolutionaries together.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    This Treaty was signed at the end of World War I. Limited the strength of the axis powers, and imposed strict sanctions. This was eventually the cause of World War II.
  • Lenin Dead/USSR formed

    Lenin was the leader of the Communist Revolution. When he died, Stalin took power. Stalin wanted to preserve Lenin's body as a national monument.
  • Russia enters WWII

    Russia entered World War II in 1939 on the side of the Axis. When Hitler double crossed Stalin, Russia joined the Allies. After the war, there was tension between America and Russia as the Cold War started.
  • Stalin Takes Power

    Stalin took power in 1941 after Lenin died. This transformed Russia into a global superpower. It strengthened the economy and manufacturing in preperation for World War II.
