    Scout and Jem Meets Dill
    In the summer time, Jem and Scout meet a neighbour friend named Dill, he is a boy who likes to adventure and he wants to play a lot. Dill gives Jem and Scout the idea of making Boo Radley come out. Jem and Scout enjoy the company of Dill because he is their friend. Atticus does not seem to care a lot.

    Scout Start First Grade
    Scout starts first grade of school. She feels excited about the idea of going to school; however, she is left disappointed. Her teacher, Miss Caroline scolds Scout for being able to read without any body's help. Scout later realizes that the town she lives in is ignorant. Scout feels dissapointed and sad.
  • Jem Invites Walter Cunningham for Dinner

    Jem Invites Walter Cunningham for Dinner
    Jem invites Walter Cunningham over for dinner. Walter takes more food than anyone at the table and acts disrepectful. Scout learns a valuable lesson. Capurnia tells Scout that she should not judge people by their acts but for who they are. Scout feels confused and learns a lesson from Calpurnia.

    Hole in the Tree
    Scout was walking back from school and she saw that there was a piece of gum in a hole of a tree. Scout takes the gum home and chews it. Scout, Jem and Dill play the Boo Radley game which is a game where they role play a stabbing scene" with the scissors. Jem and Scout are having fun; however, Atticus does not know about this game and he might not like the game.

    Note to Boo Radleu
    Jem, Scout and Dill attempt deliver a note to Boo Radley but instead, they are caught by Atticus. Atticus is disappointed in them and puts an end to all the games.
  • Shot's Fired

    Shot's Fired
    Jem, Scout and Dill get shot at in Radley's yard during the night. Dill wanted to see Boo Radley; therefore, they looked through the window to see if they were able to see Boo. Instead, someone comes out with a gun and Scout, Jem and Dill run for it. Meanwhile, Jem's pants get stuck on the fence.
  • Jem's Pants

    Jem's Pants
    Jem later goes to the Radley's place to retrieve his pants. Surprisingly, the pants are all fixed and it is sitting on the fence. Jem also finds two carved out figures that resembled Jem and Scout. Boo Radley's brother finds out about the gifts in the tree and he puts cement in it. Jem is feeling surprised because his pants were fixed; however, he is suspicious of Boo Radley's brother.
  • Miss Maudie's House Burns

    Miss Maudie's House Burns
    In Maycomb it is winter and there is snow for the first time. People keeps their fireplaces lit because of the coldness. That night, Miss Maudie's house burns down. Scout is confused because there was a blanket over Scout after the house burned down.
  • Racism

    Scout learns that Atticus is defending a black man. Atticus teaches another lesson to Scout. Atticus is defending a black man because it is the right thing to do, he does not care whether the person has a different race or what might happen to Atticus because he wants to make the world right. Scout is growing up and learning about society.
  • Proving Himself

    Proving Himself
    Scout and Jem believe their dad is not doing much because of the things they hear at school. They now think that Atticus is an old and useless fool. A mad dog is loose on the streets and Atticus is handed a rifle. Atticus shoots the mad dog and gets his respect back from his skeptical children.
  • Death of Dubose

    Death of Dubose
    Mrs. Dubose harrases Jem and Scout whenever they walk by. One day, Jem becomes enraged and rips the flowers off her camellia bushes. Mrs. Dubose passes away due to a morphine addiction and Jem is horrified. Jem learns about courage.
  • Black Church

    Black Church
    Dill and Atticus are not around Jem and Scout. Calpurnia invites Jem and Scout to come to her church. The only person who is angry is Lula, she gets angry because Calpurnia brought white kids to a "colored" church. Scout learns about Tom Robinson and what he did.
