Irene McCormack Sister Irene McCormack was born on 21 August 1938 in Kununoppin, West Australia. She was the eldest of six children, and she grew up on a wheat farm.

At the age of seventeen, Irene McCormack entered the Sisters of St Joseph, commonly known as the Josephites.
