The fall of the Eastern Roman Empire
The empire was already on the edge of the collapse, there were several reasons of the fall: political crisis, economic weakness, military problems, rise of Christianity, invasion of Germanic tribes. It represents the end of the ancient times and the beginning of the middle ages. The Roman empire were a huge unified territory. With the end of it, the barbarian tribes took over the territories, making their own kingdoms (Kingdom of Vandals/Ostrogoths/Gepids). Christian church got more power. -

The split of the Chatholic church occured from various reasons. Religious and political disagreements and conflicts, the patriarchs in Constantinople and the Pope in Rome was also in opposition. These lead to the divide of the church, on the eastern part the church became orthodox and on the west it remained Chatholic. -

Lead by William, the Conqueror, the Normans from France invaded the territory of England. It meant the end of the Anglo-Saxon period and the beginning of the French influence. -

Some sources determine the fall of byzantine empire were the end of mediavel times in europe and for the world, when Colombus discovered the new continent. It may not occur from one single event.
