    I was the only white person in my kindergarten class and was the only student that couldn’t speak Chinese. They were all in the same cohort because my peers were born and raised in China, unlike me Shanghai, China

    It was difficult for me as a grade 1 student to transition into a Canadian school, everything was different due to the different norms in both countries

    I was very nervous to go to high school because it was a big transition and some of my friends went to a different school. I was entering a new cohort of people
  • Coronavirus

    In grade 11 one of the biggest life events happened, schools closed and we were stuck in our houses for months on end. The new social norm is masks, social distancing and online school.
  • Stopped playing rep soccer

    Due to the pandemic i lost my love for soccer and it was a huge culture shock for me because it was a huge transition because I had been playing for 6 years.
  • Graduating high school and starting university

    It is definitely going to be weird to leave high school and transition into university but it is an exciting milestone
