    Martin Luther's writings against the pope and indulgences. Luther nailed a copy of it to the door of the church.

    The edict of nantes was signed off by King Henry IV. This gave the Huguenots rights in the nation.

    A war in northern Europe pertaining to the catholics and protestants. This war limited the power of the holy roman empire and split up Germany.

    The English Civil War was based on religious differences. The sides being the royalists and the one that supported the parliment.

    Louis XIV revoked the edict of nantes with edict of fontainebleau. This took away the rights of the huguenots.
