The battle started because 4 years ago the Mexican army gave the Texans a cannon to protect themselves from a group of Indians. And now Col. Domingo de Ugartechea has requested the return of the cannon.

    The Battle of the Alamo started on February 23, 1836 near San Antonio de Bexar. The battle lasted 13 days and the Mexican troops, controlled by Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna layed seige against the Texans at the Alamo. And this battle was important because it was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution.

    The Texas Declaration of Independence was on March 2, 1836 at Washigton on the Brazos. The declaration was a declaration of indepence of the Republic of Texas to declare independence from Mexico, which was written by George C. Childress. This event played a critcal role in The Texas Revolution because it stated the ultimate goal, which were some people thought was complete indepence from Mexico.

    The Runaway Scrape happened on March 11, 1836 when the Texas settlers started fleeing from home. The settlers fled when they heard that the Mexican army was near the Rio Grande, preparing to raid and retake Texas. This event was important because during this time while the Mexican army was chasing the Texan army, the Texans set up camp to fight the much larger Mexican army.

    The Battle of Coleto Creek was fought in a prarie near Coleto Creek on March 20,1836. Gen. Jose de Urrea led a large troop of the Mexican army toward Goliad, where a continent of Texian soldiers were waiting led by Col. James W. Fannin. Then the Mexican President Santa Anna launched 3 different attacks on the Texians, and at night Mexican sharpshooters came and killed more Texians, then the following morning they surrendered. This event is important for it led to the Goliad Massacre.

    The Goliad Massacre was a execution of the Texian soldiers and their leader Col. James W. Fannin. The execution was taken by the Mexican army led by Gen. Jose de Urrea on March 27,1836 in Goliad. This event was important because it outraged the Texians and inspired them to fight harder for Texas Independence.

    Santa Anna had burned Harrisburg on April 17,1836. He had burned Harrisburg for he had found out that everybody there left. And this event is important because when Sam Houston andthe Texians heard about Harrisburg, they were furious and wanted revenge.

    The Battle of San Jacinto was fought on April 21, 1836 at San Jacinto. The battle decided the fate of Texas Independence. Led by Gen. Sam Houston the Texian army engaged in combat and overpowered the Mexican army led by Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna in only 18 minutes. This event was important because it led to Santa Anna being captured which led to Texas Independence.

    The Vince Bayou Bridge was destroyed on April 21, 1836 near Harrisburg by the Texians forces. The bridge was destroyed to prevent the Mexican army and Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna from retreating to safety. This event played a big role in The Battle of San Jacinto because it ended the Texas Revolution.

    The Treaties of Velasco were 2 documents that were signed by Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna of Mexico and The Republic of Texas on May 14, 1836 at Velasco. There were 2 treaties: a Public and a Secret treaty. And this event was important because it gave Texas it's Independence.
