    This was staged in Imperial Russia led by army officers that were in control of three thousand Russian soilders. This uprising took place in the Senate Square in St. Petersburg. The square was then renamed the Decembrist Square. Nicolas I executed or exiled the decembrist leaders.

    Nicholas was not trained or inclined to rule. In 1917 ther was a revolution called the Bolshevik Revolution. It was led by Lenin. He was trying to overthrough Czar Nicholas II. Nicholas II was forced to abdicate. He was kept prisoner with his family. On the night of July 16th, 1918 Nicholas II and his family were gunned down while posing for a family photo.

    On Febuary 8, 1904 Japan did a surpise attack on Port Arthur. The war lasted until September 5, 1905. In March, Troops from Russia were defeated at Shenyang, China, by Japanese Field Marshal Iwao Oyama; and in May, the Russian Baltic fleet under Admiral Zinovi Rozhdestvenski was destroyed by Togo near the Tsushima Islands.

    Bloody Sunday was named that after a massacre on a Sunday. It was the bloodiest day in the war. It took place in St. Petersburg, Russia. They forced open fire that killed and wounded hundreds of people.

    Began when troops fired at an innocent crowd of workers in St. Petersburg. After that the troops marched in the winter palace to petition Czar Nicholas II.

    Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks capture the Winter Palace
    Vladimir Lenin arrived to St. Petersburg from Finland on a train on April 3rd. He wanted to overthrow Czar Nicholas II and the Provisional government. Lenin was determined to lead the Bolsheviks to power by exploiting the war-weariness that affected Russian citizens and soilders. He eceeded with his plan and overthrew Nicholas II. Lenin died in January 1924 from strokes. They renamed St. Petersburg, Leningrad.

    Kerensky belonged to the socialist Revolutionaries and member of Duma before became the leader of the Provisional Government. Then he became a prime minister.

    In March 1917 Czar Nicholas II and his family were taken to Czarskoye Selo Palace. On July 16, 1918 Nicholas took his family to the basement to take a family picture. He ended up getting gunned down with his family.

    On January 21, 1924 Vladimir Lenin passed away. He made to promises to the people of Russia. The first promise was to give land to the serfs and to get Russia out of war. Lenin died to a series of strokes.
