  • End of the "Time of Trouble"

    A zemsky sobor ends the "Time of Troubles" and Michael Romanov becomes the first Romanov leader.
  • Decembrist Revolt

    Nicholas I was frightened by the revolt and exiled the officers who participated in the revolt and had the leaders hanged.
  • Alexander II's most significant reform

    Alexander II emancipated the serfs, for which he is known as "Alexander the Liberator"
  • Birth of Lenin

    Lenin was born April 22, 1870 in Ulyanovsk, Russia.
  • Czar Nicholas II ABdicated

    He was forced to abdicate the throne by the Petrograd insurgents and the devastating events on the eastern front that showed Nicholas II's ineffectual leadership.
  • October Revolution

    This helped bring Lenin to power, as he was the leader of this revolution in which the Winter Palace and capitol were seized.
  • Tsar Romanov and his family are shot

    On July 17, 1918 Tsar Nicholas II and his family are shot. This marks the end of the ROmanov Dynasty.
