Kasier Wihellm II was the ruler of Germany. He was very full of himself and everything about him needed to be a big deal. When he forced brismark to resign he pretended to be unhappy but all of the people and brismark himself were not fooled. -
The Creation of Triple Alliance
The Triple Alliance was the alliance between Germany , Italy , and Austria-Hungary. It later became the central powers in the War. These countries have agreed to not fight against each other and protect one another if they are fighting with an enemy. -
Alliance of Russia and France
Russia's treaty was lasped with Germany in 1890 by Wilhelm. This caused Russia to allign with France, dooming Germany. Now, this made Germany enemies with France and Russia. This meant they would have to fight both places which were surrounding them. During this time many countries felt a great sense of nationalism. Nationalism is a strong patriotic feeling, immense pride and a defensive feeling towards your country. -

Militarism is The policy of glorifying military power and keeping an army prepared for war. All of the countries in Europe quickly built up their militaries as fast as possible. There became a lot of tension between countries militaries. -
Creation of the Triple Entente
The triple entente is the alliance between Russia, France and Britain. They were enemies with the Triple alliance. Later on Japan joins and so does Italy. -
Austria annexing Bosnia and Herzegovina
Austria took over Bosnia and Herzegovina so Serbia couldn't first. Austria didn't want to let Serbia to control all of the Slavs so they made sure they couldn't. -
The Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand
Archduke Ferdinand and his wife had taken the throne and were not liked. There was a planned carriage ride for his and his wife to go on in Sarajevo, Bosinia. The Black hand was an extremist terriosit group that planned on killing the Archduke. They found his route and put people in different spots. When the Archduke came by them they were supposed to fire. Although some did not or some failed to aim correctly. Gavrillo Princip was the man who did the job, killing the Archduke and his wife. -

The first declaration of War is when Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia. This is an important cause of the War because it gets Russia involved. Russia comes in to help and back up Serbia against Austria-Hungary. -

Great Britain declares war on Germany
Great Britain declares war on Germany becuase of the Schlieffen Plan. Germany decided to secretly get to France through Belgium. Belgium was a nuetral territory. It is against the law to go through a nuetral territory and destroy it. In genreal, Germany destroyed parts of Belgium and it was not necessary. Great Britain was angered by Germany doing this so they declared War on them -
Central Powers vs. Allies
Once World War I had begun a strong hatred formed between the Central Powers and the Allied Powers. The Central Powers were Russia, England, France, and Serbia. The Allied Powers were Germany, Ohmans (Turkey), and Austria-Hungary. Being an ally to another country means a union or association formed for mutual benefit.
