    The formation of the Dual Alliance
    Otto Von Bismark made an alliance betwen Germany and Austria-Hungary. His goal was to take friends away from France. He saw France as a threat to Germany. This began the forming of groups of countries that will fight together incase of a war.
  • Creation of the Triple Alliance

     Creation of the Triple Alliance
    The Triple Alliance was the military alliance among Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. Each country agreed tio defend eachother incase of attack. This is the reason why all the countries were involved in World War I.
  • Kaiser Wilhelm II

    Kaiser Wilhelm II
    Kaiser Wilhelm II, Supreme Warlord, became Chancellor of Germany. He was a very militeristic man and so he worked hard to increase and improve Germany's army and navy. This helped Germany be prepared for conquering and defending.

    During this time there was a rise of nationalism among EUROPES GREAT POWERS (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Great Britan, Russia, Italy, and France). There was also competition for colonies in Africa and Asia. This competiton caused mistrust and countries began enlarging and glorifying their military powers.

    Triple Entente
    Great Britian was worried about Germany's increase in Naval ships so they made their own alliance with France and Russia. The Triple Entente included Great Britian, France, and Russia. They did not agree to fight for eachother but they wouldn't fight against eachother either. Now a war would include all of Europe.

    "The Bosnian Crisis was a very complicated issue that involved nine nations. In 1878, Austria-Hungary occupied Bosnia-Herzegovina with the agreement of the rest of Europe (Treaty of Berlin). Bosnia-Herzegovina were the two most northwesterly provinces of the Ottoman Empire. Austria-Hungary signed an agreement that the Sultan’s sovereignty over the area would be upheld but few expected Austria-Hungary to adhere to this. In fact, Austria-Hungary quickly made plans to annex the provinces."

    On June 28, 1914, a young Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo "Princip killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Taking place against a backdrop of escalating tensions in the Balkans, the assassination set off a chain of events that would lead to the start of World War I barely one month later."
