The Life and Times of Vanessa L. Kennedy

  • Before I was born!

I was born to Manual Kennedy Jr and Theresa Louise Bolden. On October 14, 1967. They were both college students at Winston-Salem University in Winston-Salem North Carolina.
  • Prenatal Development

I am the child in this timeline. My mother says I was her first pregnancy she followed all the new mother rules. She ate correctly, took all the right precautionary measures. She went to all her check-up's and took very good care of herself.
  • Personal Experience

I was a normal vaginal birth with no complications.
  • Biosocial

I was normal with no deformities. I was very healthy. My mother tried to breast feed me but she states I had a strong suckle. She did not experience post-partum depression.
  • Personal Experience

My mother had all the support of my father and her family. Unfortunately my father was drafted into the Vietnam War 6 weeks after I was born.
  • Personal Experience

Born and raised in North Carolina, my mother imitated what her mother did, for example my grand mother put a pot on the kitchen floor with food in it with a spoon and fork and let me go for it. Allowing to learn to feed myself.
