    Archduke Franz Ferdinand visited Serbia and was shot by a member of the Black Hand. This caused Austria to become even more mad at Serbia because they killed Austria's leader.

    The U.S. decided to enter the war because of Germany. Germany sunk a U.S. shipped called the Lusitania and killed 128 citizens. Also Germany sent a telegram to Mexico, the Zimmerman Telegram, saying that if Mexico went on their side they would help Mexico reconquer their land that was taken by the U.S.

    Since the Second Battle of the Marne the French and the Germans decided to stop fighting. In order to make this an actual agreement both of the countries signed an armistice.
