The Gradual Increase of Nazi Persecution of the German Citizens

  • Adolf Hitler Appointed Chancellor of Germany

Adolf Hitler Appointed Chancellor of Germany
In November of 1932, the Nazi party won 33 percent of the vote, which was more than any other party, in the German Election. Due to this, President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Adolf Hitler, who was the head of the National Socialist German Workers Party (NAZI Party), the new chancellor of Germany. This shows persecution against my people because Hitler ended up being a bad leader, and made very bad moves.
  • Reichstag Fire Decree

    Reichstag Fire Decree
This law was put into place by President von Hindenburg. This law took away freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right for people to assemble. This meant that the government now could control what was being published to citizens of Germany. This shows a lot of persecution because the government could hide anything they do not want their citizens to see, and this could be a very bad thing for the citizens because it means that nobody knows the truth and they are all seeing lies.
  • Carl Gartic's Story

    Carl Gartic's Story
He tried to make Anti - Nazi material, but was arrested shortly after the publishing of it. This shows persecution because it means nobody could fight back at the Nazis inside of Germany.
  • Burning of “Un-German” Books

    Burning of “Un-German” Books
Basically, what happened in this event is Hitler ordered all of the Nazis to burn all of the books, almost, because the only books considered to be okay were ones that were pro-nazi. Any book that was Anti-Nazi, Un-German, or published by a Jew were burned. This shows persecution because the Nazis burned all evidence pointing towards anything that could make them look bad, and they only kept “good” books, books that put them in a good spotlight.
  • Enabling Act

    Enabling Act
The purpose of this law was to create propaganda that makes Hitler look like a good leader, so that everyone votes for him to be the new chancellor for Germany. This shows persecution because it is deceiving the community of citizens, and making them vote for a leader that is in fact a criminal without their knowledge.
  • Hitler Becomes Fuhrer

    Hitler Becomes Fuhrer
President paul von died. Hitler became president. Hitler got rid of the office and declared himself as the dictator. Hitler could do whatever he wanted to do. This shows persecution because he is taking power over everyone and is not letting anything else happen that he does not want to happen, a very bad idea if you ask me.
  • Revision of Paragraph 175

    Revision of Paragraph 175
This law was already an existing law but it was revised by the German government. This law had gay men persecuted because they were seen as corrupting “ german Values” because they where not adding to the population, but since lesbians could still have biological children they were usually not targeted. This shows persecution towards the citizens because the Germans are starting to exclude certain people and making peoples’ lives ruined.
  • Law for the Protection of German Blood and Honor

Law for the Protection of German Blood and Honor
Jewish people could not marry non Jews. It was illegal for couples to be of mixed race. This shows persecution because everyone should have freedom of who they choose to be with, but German Citizens can now not be able to marry their true love - if they’re a Jew.
  • Nuremberg Laws Extended

    Nuremberg Laws Extended
Roma, Sinti, and Afro Germans lost their citizenship and were not allowed to marry “Aryan” germans. This shows persecution, because just as the last one, everyone should have freedom of who they choose to be with, but German Citizens can now not be able to marry their true love - if they’re a Jew.
  • Nazi Soviet Pact

    Nazi Soviet Pact
Nazi gearmany and the Sovit Ununin signed a secert agreement stating not to attack eachouther for 10 years and agreed to divided eastern Europe. This shows persecution against the German citizens because their country was going to be seen as bad because their leader is breaking an agreement and making them look like liars, despite the citizens being perfectly clean.
  • Axis Alliance Formed

    Axis Alliance Formed
In September on the 27th, 1940 the Axis alliance was formed with hitler in leed. The countries Japan and Italy signed the Tripartite pact ferst. Later in the war Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgari and Crota later signed the Tripartite pact. This shows persecution against this group because they never even heard about anything of the sort going on, and their leader is messing up their country.
