    The captial of the Byzantine Empire was Constantinople which stood for over 1000 years. At one point the reign of the Empire stretched from the Strait of Gibalter to Israel.

    Fall of Rome
    Rome was put under siege for 2 years before finally falling to the Visagoths.
    Although Rome fell, another Roman government still existed in the west, located in Constantinople.

    The Life of Clovis

    Clovis onverted to Christanity to attract more supporters. At age 15 Clovis took over the Rhine Delta in Northern France, not killing the townspeople, but using them in his army to continue expansion.

    The Black Plague

    The cause of the Black Plague is not known, but the first cases started around 542. The plague was transfered on fleas that nested on rats and it is estimated that 100,000,000 people died in the Eastern Roman Empire.

    Magyar Invasions

    The Magyars were a group of Muslim invaders and in 730 advanced into France with an army of 150,000 men. The French force headed by Charles "The Hammer" Martel defeated the Magyars and saved Christanity in Europe.

    Nica Revolt

    Nica Revolt
    The Nica Revolt started at a chariot race between two rival teams. The crowd started chanting "Nica" or "revolt" towards the overthrow of Justinian. After trying to leave the city, and stopped by his wife, Justinian invited all of the fans back to the race, and slaughtered all 30,000 of them.

    Death of Theodora
    Theodora was Justinian's wife, and has just as much influence on the empire as he did. When Justinian was about to leave the city, Theodora said she was staying, which made Justinian stay and resolve the Nica Revolts.

    Death of Ivar the Boneless?
    Ivor was a Viking leader who is rumored to have no bones in his legs and was carrried around on a shield. Ivor wanted revenge on the King of York and to do this he captured him and killed him using a method known as the "Blood Eagle".

    The Reign of the Visagoths

    The Visagoths came from Northwest Europe, and at one time worked for the Roman Empire. Their leader Alaric was passed up in the Roman hirearchy and held a grudge against them.

    Life of Justinian

    Justinian was the ruler of the Eastern Roman Empire and rose to power in 527. He had aspirations to take over all of the old Roman land and restore the Mediterranean Sea to the "Roman Lake" that it once was.

    The Life of St. Bennedict

    St. Bennedict was a Christian monk that was supposed to have supernatural powers of healing and telling the future. After being kicked out of an abbey, he established 12 of his own and wrote the Law of St. Bennedict which his monks were to live by.

    The Life of Charles Martel

    Charles "The Hammer" Martel was the leader of the Franks during the time of the Muslim Invasions. To combat the Muslims he saught the help of the church and it's land, and after crushing the Muslims with the aid, he earned his nickname "The Hammer".

    Viking Invasions

    The Vikings were a group of invaders that were forced to leave their homeland of Scandinavia due to overpopulation. The main tool the Vikings had in their aresnal was their warboats. These boats were able to sail in deep and shallow water which made it easier for Vikings to sail up rivers and streams and attack villages.

    Life of Charlemange

    Charlemange was crowned emperor of the Holy Roman Empire by the Pope. Charlemange was a very active emperor, always moving around the empire through the 350 counties, making sure that all of the proper procedues were being followed. He also strived for education in his empire, and even himself learned to read and write.
