Captain Hopkins and the Sally arrive in West Africa on the coast of what is present day Guinea.

Captain Hopkins bought his last slave, in all he bought 196 slaves 20 of whom had died before they left.

On the 8th day out at sea the slaves rose in rebllion. Hopkins and the crew suppressed the rebllion by firing on the slaves, killing eight and wounding several others.

The Brown brothers write to Hopkins telling him how they were disappointed he had lost 88 slaves on they way back, but how cheerful they were he had survived the trip.
