    In the 1850s, the amount of neccessary equipment that was needed rose in demand as a result of the industrialisation of mining. Therfore, steam engines were introfuced to assist the miners.
  • Steam Trains in Ballarat

    There were 13 steam enginwes operating in relaion to the gold rushes. The numberes had increased dramatically by 1861, with 342 operating trains. They main purpose was to pump out water in the mines.
