    This was Napoleons first vistory as an officer. The battle of toulon was between France and Britain. The city of Toulon was taken over by the Brits. Then, Napoleon organized a plan to get the British Fleet out of the ports in Toulon. The French forced the fleet out by firing a great amount of weapons at the fleet. The flee fled the harbor and Toulon was back under control of the Fench.

    Considered the "effective end of the French Revolution." It brought Napoleon to power and did this by overthrowing the directory and replacing the directory with Napoleon.

    The Napoleonic Code is a writen document that tsays that the most qualified person gets jobs. This allows a person that is really smart, but was born into a poor family have a high ranking job in the government. It also prevents an unitelligent person from getting an important job just because their family is well known or wealthy.

    Napoleon's Coronation was the crowning of Napoleon as Emporer of France. This took place in Paris and it happened because Napoleon named himself the Emporer. He even placed the crown on his hed instead of the Pope who was in attendance.

    This was a battle between the fleets of French and Spain against the British Navy. Napoleon lost this battle which established Britain as the dominant navy. The british navy did not lose a single ship in the battle.

    It is also known as the "Battle of the Three Emperors." Napoleon lead his troops against those of the Russians and Austrians and won. The battle forced Austria to sign a peace treaty and temporarily kept Prussia out of the anti-France alliance.

    It was a system that was designed to make England's economy go down. France made Europe block all ports from England so England could not trade in Europe. Restrictions on trade hurt commerce in Europe and Russia eventually withdrew from the system because goods became hard to get and too expensive.

    The purpose was to take down Russia's army. The Russians got word of the invasion and everyone moved east. When people left their villages thawere on the way to Moscow, they burned everything so the French had nothing to eat and have no shelter. This caused the people being hungry and caused many deaths.

    Napoleon retreatedfrom Russian because he realized that the army could not spend the winter in russia because of the harsh winters in Russia. Also, the number of troops was diminished and he may have lost battles that could have been fought if he continued on because of how little troops were still alive. Napoleon returned to France with 1/3 of the people he went there with.

    Napoleon was forced to attack Leipzig because the allied armies threatened to take away Napoleon’s line of communications through Leipzig. He needed to take over the city to make sure his line of communication was still there. He won a couple of battles but lost some troops. The French were greatly outnumbered when more allied troops showed up agianst him and they forced him back. This battle was one of Napoleons biggest defeat.

    Napoleon had his power taken away then given back for "100 days." He was given power again because people did not like Louis XVIII who was in charge at the time. In those days, he led France in the battle of Waterloo. He lost this batle against the allied forces. This was his last battle and the end to his career as a commander and leader of France.

    He was exiled because he lost several crucial battles and people no longer had faith in him. Also, they thought he should be punished for his bad decisions. On this date, Napoleon landed on the island of St. Helena which began his tenure invexile. He was there with people that were close to him.
