    The mier expedition happened in November 1842 through February 1843. President Sam Houston sent Texas militia to watch over the Texas-Mexico border .After many weeks of watching over the border some troops decided to not follow there orders and attack the Mexican town of mier. Soon after Texas attacked Mexico can with about 900 troops to the border and Texas had to surrender.During the Texas being taken too Mexico some Texans overpowered some guards and made a run for it. Mexico got victory.

    Anson Jones, was born at Seekonkville, Great Barrington, Massachusetts, on January 20, 1798. Before Jones took office Mirabeau Lamar, he declined candidacy for the vice presidency in the election of 1841, so Houston again became president. Jones was elected president of Texas September 1844 and took office on December 9. President Jones was against annexation he wants peace for Texas.
