UH-OH Texas is starting to have some problems. Especially economic ones. Texas couldn't afford to pay for the battle of San Jacinto. And to make things worse, the Republic of Texas had to pay
the people taxes. Which is obviously not enough money. Texas has to do something. -
With what all the votes had told us, they wanted Texas to annex to the United States. So on December 29,1845 president James K Polk signed the official papers and documents. Texas was now a state. The 28th state. The lone star state.
