The mexicans gave the texians a cannon to protect themselves but asked for it back the texians refused and the mexicans sent 100 troops to retrieve it but the texians refused and the mexicans opened fire but they soon withdrew. -

sam houston ordered colonel fannin to retreat his men to victoria but got surrounded by colonel urrea's men they launched 3 attacks on the texian army they could not penetrate the texas position. but they were able to wound and kill some of the texians army with no water on march 20 the texians were forced to surrender. -
Goliad massacre
after fannin and his men surrendered they were marched to goliad general urrea promised colonel fannin that him and his men would not be executued but later santa anna ordered general urrea to do so -
battle of san jacinto
sam houston led a battle that lasted 18 minutes and defeated general antonio lopez de santa anna's mexican forces with about 630 of the mexican army were killed and 730 captured.
