The Texans decided to rest in a prarie. While they were there the Mexicans moved in on the Fannin. The Mexicans fought, but were pushed back. Eventually Fannin surrendered, but the Texan captives were still killed and Santa Anna was also killed

The Mexicans had settled down to sleep. While the Mexicans were sleeping the Texans moved in and attacked the Mexicans only 9 Texans had died. They had later on captured Santa Anna.
