Austin's grant
Austin received a grant from Mexico and colonized people on the Brazos river. -
Mexican Independance
The constiution in 1824 gave a republican form of government for Mexico. -
Austin imprisoned
Vice-president Farias imprisoned Stephen F. Austin while he was traveling in Mexico. -
Battle at Gonzales
Mexicans were takiong weapons from cities to use in battle for themselves. A group of texans were asked to give up their cannon and other weapons. The texans shot a cannon ball then hung a flag that said "come and taake it". -
Runaway Scrape begins
All the colonists were scared that Santa Anna was winning battles so they packed up and ran away. They came back to their homes after the battle of San Jacinto was won. -

James Polk made Texas the 28th state of the united states. -

In 1861 Texas seceded from the federal union . The vote in the secession convention was 171 for seccesion and 6 against it. -
Battle of Galveston -the Bayou City
In 1863 the confederate cottonclads entered west Galveston in boats and battled two other boats called The Lane and The Bayou City.
