    He established Fort St. Louis which formed the french claim on Texas. He was murdered 2 years later.

  • Austin's grant

    Austin's grant

    Austin received a grant from Mexico and colonized people on the Brazos river.

    The constiution in 1824 gave a republican form of government for Mexico.
  • Austin imprisoned

    Vice-president Farias imprisoned Stephen F. Austin while he was traveling in Mexico.

    Mexicans were takiong weapons from cities to use in battle for themselves. A group of texans were asked to give up their cannon and other weapons. The texans shot a cannon ball then hung a flag that said "come and taake it".
