Texas Empresarios Timeline By sarah.chun Jan 1, 1805 Martin de Leon, the only Native Mexican empresario, receives land grants to settle 100-200 families. Jul 2, 1819 Moses Austin makes a plan to bring settlers into Texas Jul 2, 1820 Moses recieves permission to bring settlers. Jun 10, 1821 Moses dies and asks his son, Stephen F. Austin, to finish his goal of bringing in settlers. Aug 1, 1821 Stephen goes to San Antonio to claim the land grant. Dec 1, 1821 Austin brings the first settlers to Texas. Jul 2, 1824 De Leon founded the town of Victoria. Sep 25, 1824 With the efforts of Edwards and Austin, the colonization law is approved in Mexico City. Apr 15, 1825 Green Dewitt recieves a grant to found a colony in Texas. Jul 2, 1825 Haden Edwards receives a grant to settle 800 families near Nacogdoches. Mar 12, 1829 Lorenzo de Zavala recieves a grant to settle 500 families. March 12, 182 Jul 2, 1830 Martin de Leon becomes very succesful. Jul 2, 1831 Dewitt successfully completes 166 land titles
