    Apple Computer Released First Macintosh Portable
    Apple, the computer company, released there ever first Macintosh Portable laptop. Later this had involved into another laptop which we now call the "Powerbook." The machine was half done by a man named Alan Kay. This computer was launched around the same time as the Mac IIci. Macintosh Portable's battery gave you a time of 8-10 hours of usage time before the battery went dead.This is significant to me because I usecomputers every single day to do research and learn so without it I might be lost.

    Microsoft's Ballpoint Mouse
    The First ever Ballpoint mouse was created by Micorsoft Company. You would plug in the mouse to your laptop. This would allow you to move around the screen or touch something such as icons like our regular mouse's do today. It used both mouse and trackball technology. Mouses are pertinent to me because i use them every single day along with computers like I said before. If I did not have a mouse I would not be amle to manuever a computer or work it.

    This invention of wireless internet connection is used much today as many people have laptops and take them with them to on-the-go to places where WiFi is located. NCR Corporation/AT&T companies in the Netherlands are to be acknowledged for launching WiFi. It is a box of which it has Access Points. Also Beacons are in the machine to help make WiFi accessible. I need WiFi because having my own laptop I need access to internet thats wireless so I'am able to use the internet properly.

    DVD or also known as Digital Video Disc had few contributors to this invention and these companies were: Philips, Sony, Matsushita, and Toshiba. Although Philips is credited with inventing the DVD player its Matsushita who has invented the one of today. This is a machine which plays movies of up to 133 minutes. This is a past time of mine to watch movies on the dvd player because I love to sit and watch them with family or friends as an activity.

    AOL AIM "Instant Messenger"
    AOL AIM "Instant Messenger" was where people could gather in a chat room and talk to anyone on the internet. This application had a buddy list which allowed you to communicate with the firends that you chose to be on the "Buddy List." The launchers of this wordly used application are Barry Appleman and Stephen D. William. This was pertinent to me during my grade school years because before I had a cell phone I would talk to people using my account that i used to have on AIM over the weekends.

    This Portable music player allowed you to listen to music on-the-go without being near a radio. This project was created under a name which was Dulcimer. It took a year to launch their first mp3 player. A few people who are contributors to this machinery are Jon Rubinstein, Jonathan Ive, and Steve Jobs. iTunes was created so you could download your songs onto your iPod. I personally take this a large significance to me because music is a part of my life and apart of culture.

    As some of you may know Skype is an application which allows you to connect with friends over the entire world using it through the internet. There is a webcam on both computers so you are able to see the person in video communications. Creators of this application are credited to Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis. For me this is very useful. As an example I skyped with my sister when she was in china for a month. Also I'am able to talk to relatives in Italy that I do not get to see very often.

    Facebook as we all know was ceated or invented in a dorm room in Harvard College by a man famously known about almost everywhere called Mark Zuckerberg. This website is very useful in allowing you to connect with friends or family all around the world. It allows you to see profile information. For example pictures, birthday, your likes in music, activities and etc. Facebook has made an impact on my life by allwoing me to see what friends and family are up to any time of day.

    YouTube is a website that was invented by Steven Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim. It happened to be created in one of their garages which was located in Menlo Park. This website allows you to watch videos on anything. Videos come from people all over the world. Anyone can put their own personal videos on here. YouTube has had a significant impact on me because I can watch videos on how-to-do's. It teaches me lessons on anything, for example: I learned how to assemble a few things in the past.

    The Wii Gaming System is a machine that allows you to play games on your tv with multiple players. It has controlers to be able to play the games. The creation of the wii was from several Nintendo employees. Critical people who did the most work on it were Shigeru Miyamoto, Kenichiro Ashida, and Satoru Iwata. As to why this is important to me is because I know I have personally used the wii as a fun activity or used it in spare time with friends of mine because we all like to play games.
