Nice for the first 5 years... then they realize that they can say no.

This was the birhday I went horseback riding. I almost suffocated my parents with hugs when they told me.

Lot's of good food, great history lesson (I was homeschooling at that point.), and it was also fun to see Pompeii!

When my parents first told me, I couldn't tell if they were serious or not. Then it was, "Mom, where's the Netherlands? They have animals, right? There are people right? It's not in Antarctica, right?"

Ups and and downs, side to side. Story of my life!
Living in the Netherlands was a really great experience, I got to visit several famous places in Europe (I went to Paris, Tuscany [I can definitely see the resemblance in Livermore], Munich, Amsterdam, etc.) and I made lot's of friends who I still miss and keep in touch with. It was probably the most important time of my life so far.
Fun Fact: The pilgrims lived in Leiden, a dutch town, before coming to America. Some families stayed behind! -

My parents ask, "Do you want another brother or sister?"
"Um sure?"
"Alright you'll have one soon."
(brother) "Okay."
