What is the point of staying there???

    The De Lôme letter
This letter, was intercepted in the mail as a threat to our country. It criticized Mckinley of his involvement in the Spain-Cuba trifle. It was definitely not a small little trifle, though. First Battle
The first battle, although it seems would be in Cuba, was halfway around the world in the Philipines. This came as a suprise to the rest of the world, because it showed we wern't just going after Cuba, we were trampling down Spain to build our secret, or not so secret, empire.
