On Monday, January 16, 2006, seventeen Teachers from all departments at the current IVHS, one Guidance Counselor, one Secretary, the Principal, the Director of Buildings and Grounds, the Director of Cafeteria Operations, the Director of Secondary Education, the Superintendent, and Board President all traveled to Northern York High School for the morning and then on to Big Spring High School for the afternoon. These are new high schools that were built in the last three years.

The building was to be constructed to house 1150 students grades 9-12 with an approximate cost of $64 Million. Plans called for construction to begin in August, 2008.

March 22, 2010 The new Indian Valley high School has been under construction for approximately seventy-nine (79) weeks since the Notice of Proceed was issued on August 25, 2008. The projected substantial completion is anticipated as December 22, 2010. Phase 1 - Area B Brick and window installation in Area B is complete. Interior masonry walls on the 3rd Floor are complete and ready to receive paint. Ceiling grid is proceeding and ready to receive light fixtures and HVAC grilles and diffus

The entire Indian Valley student body was lead from the existing building in a procession to the new site, where students, teachers, administrators,and community members participated in the ground breaking ceremony
