Samuel de Champlain was born on August 13, 1574. His parents were Marguerite Le Roy, and Antoine Champlain. He grew up to be a, navigator, cartographer, draughtsman, soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnologist, diplomat, and chronicler.

Samuel was a young man in 1603. During that tim he started exploring North America. He also had guidance to help him and his name was François Gravé Du Pont.

Samuel founded New France. New France went through the middle and eastern parts of the U.S. It also went through most of Canada.

After Champlain wasn't in Quebec for 4 years, He came back to do some final touches there. While he was there he build up the ruins of Quebec. He also established two more places to live.

Champlain had a severe stroke in October. He was very ill and suffered. Soon later on December 25 he died.
