    Russia Breaks Territories with Japan
    Japan and Russia competed for Korea and Manchuria and they both signed a series of agreements over territories. After Russia broke the territories Japan attacked Russian Port and won.

    Two hundred thousand workers went to Czars palace asking for better working conditions, more freedom, and an elected national legislature. Nicholas II order his soldiers to shoot at the workers but, they stopped shooting and more than 1,000 workers were wounded and several hundred were killed. Across the country after that Sunday violence and strike broke out. Afterward in October 1905 Nicholas II hesitantly promised freedom and an elected national legislature.

    The parliament first met in May of 1906, the leaders were moderates that wanted Russia to become a constitutional monarchy, similar to Britain. After ten weeks Czar dissolved the parliament, otherwise know as the Duma, because he didn't think they were making the correct decisions.

    Armed factory workers randomly stormed the Winter Palace in Petrograd, the workers called themselves Bolshevik Red Guards. The Red Guards took over government officers and arrested leaders of the provisional government.

    Russia and Germany signed the treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Russia surrendered a large part of its territory to Germany and its allies. The anger spread around all of Russia and they wanted to murdered German royal families.

Overall the Red Army won every time.

    Lenin resorted to a small-scale version of capitalism called New Economic Policy, it allowed peasants to sell their surplus crops instead of turning them over to the government. The government kept major control of major industries, banks, and means of communication. Slowly the economy was recovering because of this.
