    On this day Alexander I had died without a heir successor. The next in line, Constantine I was next in line for the throne, although had married a Polish woman. Because of this, Nicholas I was next in line, but was questioned by the people of Russia, Nicholas I published Alexanders Manifesto on the 26 of the month and came to power in Russia.
  • Alexander II

    After defeats in the Crimean war, Russia felt like they needed a change from the rule of Nicholas I who was the father of Alexander II. Alexander came to power after his fathers death and went through a series of reforms that would modernize Russia to be as strong as the neighboring countries.
  • Vladamir Lenin

    Lenin was born on this day. HIs father was threatened to be revoked of his job at a young age because of the suspicions that the government had on public schooling. This is one event that led Lenin to later take part and lead the revolution.
