    Decembrist Revolt
    The Decembrists were primarily members of the upper classes who had military backround. The death of czar Alexander I staged an uprising convincing some of the troops in St. Petersburg to refuse to be loyal to Nicholas I and to demand instead the accession of his brother Constantine. The rebellion was poorly organized and easily suppressed. An extensive investigation resulted in the trial of 289 Decembrists, the death of 5 of them,the imprisonment of 31 and the banishment of the rest to Siberia

    Military disasters at the Masurian Lakes and Tannenburg greatly weakened the army in the initial phases of the war. The Romanov's were no longer in charge of Russia. It was taken over by Kerensky and the Provisonal government. By the end, the Bolshevik's had taken power in the major cities of Russia.

    He was forced to abdicate, and Nicholas was crowned on May 26, 1894. But he wasn't trained to be ruler, so he ended up being a horrible leader. Eventually a sentence was passed on him and him and his family were killed on the night of July 16th.

    Between 1961-1964, the SNCC had led as voting campiagin in Selma. During Janurary and Feburary, 1965, SCLC led a series of demonstrations to the DallasCounty Courthouse. Bloody Sunday was televised around the world. Martin LutherKing called for civil rights suupporters to come to Selma for a second march. On March 21, the final succesfu march began with fedral protction.
