  • The Decembrist Revolt

    The Decembrist Revolt
    On December 26, 1825 the Decembrist Revolt took place. Tsar Alexander I died and he left no one to take his place. The Decembrists marched into Russia and demandd that Constintine take the throne, but it was passed to his younger brother Nicholas I. The Decembrists were exiled to Sibera because they disagreed with who should take the throne.
  • The Russo-Japanese War

    The Russo-Japanese War
    On February 8, 1904 The Russo-Japanese War took place. Japan said that they would recognize Russia for the dominance over Manchuria, if Russia would recognize Korea for Japanese influence. Russia did not agree to these coditions and they decided to go to war with each other.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    On January 22, 1905 Bloody Sunday took place. It is known as Bloody Sunday because so many unarmed people were killed by Russian soldiers of the Imperial Guard.

    Throughout March of 1917 The March Revolution took place. Rasputin had died and Lenin had left the country, but the people were still suffering. They had food shortages and thousands, if not more people had died. A major event was on March 4th when workers in the largest factory demanded 50% more wages.

    Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
    On March 15, 1917 Nicholas II was forced to abdicate the throne. He was forced to because he had no experience in ruling when he was given the possision. People were saying that they needed a better leader with more experience.

    In Spring of 1917 Russia became involved with World War 1. Lenin, who led the Bolshviks, had power over pretty much every major city in Russia. All of the cities were introduced to communist rule.

    In November of 1917 The Russian Civil War took place. The Russian Civil War was between the Red Army and the White Army. The Red Army was fighting for the Bolshevik form of socialism. The White army was fighting for many different forms of government, like monarchism, capitalism, and other forms of socialism.

    Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
    On July 17, 1918 Nicholas II became the czar of Russia. Nicholas II did not have any prior knoledge on how to run a country. He was later forced to abdicate the throne.

    On December 30, 1922 the creation of the U.S.S.R. took place. The U.S.S.R. is more commonly known as the Soiet Union. This created a new centeralized government in Russia.
  • Vladimir Lenin’s Death

    Vladimir Lenin’s Death
    On January 21, 1924 Vladimir Lenin died. Vladimir Lenin died of a stroke. He was known as the leader of the Bolsheviks / The Red Army.
