    The Decemberist Revolt
    The Decmberist Revolt happened on December 26th 1825. The Decembrist Revolt was when Russian Officers led around 3,000 soldiers in a protest against Nicholas the first for taking over the throne after his older brother resigned. This was one to the first indications showing that the people are becoming un loyal to the Czar.
  • Czar Nicholas II becomes Czar of Russia

    Czar Nicholas II becomes Czar of Russia
    Nicholas the Second becomes Czar of Russia. Born May 1868, Nicholas did not want to become Czar because he thought that he did not have the leadership skills. Nicholas was more of a family man. Eventually he became the last Czar ever and he and his family get executed.

    The war between the Russain empior and Japan was fought over Korea and Manchuria. Reasons for Russia to fight in this war were that Russia wanted a warm-water port on the Pacific Ocean for thier navy and for trade. Japan offered only Manchuria and wanted Korea for themselfs and Russia want Korea also so Russia decleared war on Korea. Russia lost many battles and also many men. In the end Russia loses so many men that they have to stop fighting.

    Protesters were marching to the square to protest against working conditions when Protesters were fired on and killed many people. This became known as Bloody Sunday and this was really bad for Nicholas the Second and his new nickname was Bloody Nicholas.

    In World War 1 there were many military disasters and many lives were lost. There were many problems such as food was running out and by the end of 1917 Lenin had taken over power in major cities promoting Communism. It was the start of the falling of the last Tzar.

    When the protesters got close to the Petrograde Nicholas was forced to resign, he and his family were captured and later killed

    The March Revolution
    The March Revolution led to the eventual rise of the Soviet Union. The Russian Empire collapsed with the abdication of Nicholas the Second. It took place in Petrograd (St. Petersburg today) witch was the capital at the time.

    November 1917-October 1922. The Russian Civil war was fought between the Red army who was trying to form Socializm and the White Army who wanted everything to stay the same. Eventually the Red Army won and Lenin took over along with Stalin.

    The Creation of the U.S.S.R
    The Treaty along with the Declaration of the Creation of the USSR was approved on December 29, 1922 by a conference of delegations from the Russian SFSR, the Transcaucasian SFSR, the Ukrainian SSR and the Byelorussian SSR. Lenin and Stalin were the main leaders.

    Vladimir Lenin, the architect of the Bolshevik Revolution and the first leader of the Soviet Union, dies of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 54. He was mostly responsible for the rise of the Soviet Union.
