Lenin was an exile who was sent back to Russia by the Germans with $8 million to start his own revolution to take Russia out of the war and it worked. With Russia out of the war, it helped them focus on their own problems and taking over the country. -

The group that revolted lead by Lenin otherwise known as the Bolsheviks, took over the winter palace. While doing so, they captured the Czar and his family. Now Lenin and his group are in control of Russia -
Russian Civil War Begins
Because of Lenin and his men taking over Russia, it caused some trouble with the people who did support the Czar and his ruling. Due to that a civil war broke out in Russia and only lasted 2 years and ended in a victory for Lenin. However during the war, an assassination attempt left Lenin very wounded. -
The Birth of The Soviet Union
When the war ended, they changed Lenin's group from the Bolshevik party to the Communist Party. So Lenin and his "cabinet" changed Russia into a Communist Soviet Union. This affected the people very much by not having a say in anything but also having things provided for them. -
Stalin Takes Over
When Lenin passed, one of his close workers took over his legacy. Which was a good thing at the time. But today we know Stalin as one of the most horrific leaders on history killing his own people and taking over the country.
