    (D) - He oppressed jews - Ruled by autocracy - He allowed pogroms (when people can kill jews) - He would strengthen the nobles and would ignore the peasants
    (S ) - Was the one to make citizens dislike the Czar's

    (D) - He wanted to be very powerful - absolute power (autocracy) - Didn’t want a democracy or any democratic reforms - Used phrase “senseless dreams” to describe wishes people had of a democracy - Bad leadership
    (S) - Czar Nicholas was blamed for everything bad that happened during his rule, and this made the people of Russia angry and want to rebel

    (D) - This war was over a territorial dispute against Russia and Japan - The land they fought over was called Manchuria - Japan won the war because they had the advantage of the sea (had strong naval forces)
    (S) - This war was another defeat that Russia had suffered, and they blamed this on the Czar again, and this led to the civilians getting angry and wanting to revolt

    (S) - Czar Nicholas was on the front line of the war, and Russia having to drop out of the war was blamed on him and this incident in the future led to the Bolshevik revolution

    (D) - Rasputin was first tried to be killed by poison (he didn't die) - He then gets shot at multiple times (he didn't die) - He then gets thrown into a river to drown (finally died) - The autopsy shows that he died because of drowning not because of the shot wounds or the poison
    (S) - He helped the royal family and there sick child and helped in the military

    (D) - Thousands of women marched to the capital - They were protesting over bread shortages
    (S) - It ended the Romanov rule, and this made Russia have a temporary government that made the Bolsheviks take over and this led to the Bolshevik revolution

    (D) - This was the second Revolution - They overthrew Czar Nicholas II
    (S) - Czar Nicholas II being overthrown led to the communist rule of Russia and the USSR because the Bolsheviks became the USSR

    (S) - A long term effect is it created a corrupt government in Russia because of the communism

    (S) - Russia didn't have a leader anymore so there was a fight a new leader and the new leader made Russia more corrupt and communist

    (D) - Trotsky had tried to be killed multiple times - Stalin was paranoid with Trotsky so it is believed for Stalin to have sent someone to kill Trotsky
    (S) - Now that Trotsky was killed Stalin didn't have to be paranoid that he will take over rule because they went against each other for leader of Bolsheviks and Stalin won
