Provisional Government fails to end the war. The Bolsheviks come to power by attacking the porvisional government officials with the help of peasants. -

The Communists of Russia finally won the Civil war against the Whites. The 6 years of fighting finally came to an end. -
Lenin's Death leads to power struggle
Lenin dies at the age of 54. This leads to a power struggle between Trotsky and Stalin for control over Russia. -
Stalin controls Russia
Stalin comes into power with other Russians that included Trotsky but was later known as the sole leader after the elimination of the other men. -
Terror Famine
five to eight million peasants were killed because of Stalins action to take the crops and sell it to the market. This lead to less grain production in the country. -
The Great Purge
The Great Purge was used by Stalin to eliminate any of those who opposed him in his party. He made public trials and usually forced the victim to admit that he was guilty by torture or by putting the family at harms way. -
Germany invades Russia
This eventually starts the downfall for Stalin as the country takes a huge loss. Although the Russians do fight back to regain the territory, Stalins power soon starts to decline. This also starts the alliance between Russia and the allies. -
Stalin dies
Stalin dies after years of serving the soviet union. He left a Russia that was a military superpower and an industrial giant. He has also left a toll on the country and the people did not live a better life comapred to the west.
